George Bose has made a remarkable comeback to the Fiji 7s squad during the opening HSBC SVNS 2025 Series in Dubai last week. After being part of the extended squad but not making the final team last year, Bose proved his worth on the field, helping Fiji break a nine-year winless streak in Dubai.

His rugby journey began with the Yamacia Rugby Club, followed by significant contributions to Tabadamu and the Lavidi Brothers Rugby Club. His talents were recognized by coach Osea Kolinisau after a standout performance at the Kadavu 7s two months ago, which led to his selection for the national team.

Hailing from Draiba Village in Navosa, Bose acknowledged the shift in intensity and skill required when transitioning from local club play to the international arena. Satisfied with his performance, he emphasized the need for improvement, particularly regarding defensive strategies, ahead of the upcoming Cape Town 7s.

Bose credited the collective support of his teammates and his faith in the Almighty for their victory in Dubai. He outlined a commitment to enhance the team’s defense during training as they prepare to face strong competitors, including Uruguay and Great Britain, in Pool A of the Cape Town 7s.

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team is also gearing up for the challenge, as they find themselves in a competitive Pool D alongside Great Britain and the USA. The Cape Town 7s tournament is set to begin this Saturday, and both teams are looking to build on their recent performances.

Bose’s story is one of resilience and determination, showcasing how second chances can lead to new heights in sports, inspiring future athletes to never give up on their dreams.

In summary, George Bose’s journey reflects a significant comeback, highlighting the essence of teamwork and personal growth, setting a positive tone for the upcoming tournaments.
