South Africa’s Blitzbok 7s team is set to welcome back speedy player Mfundo Ndlovu for the upcoming Cape Town 7s tournament, as they aim for gold on home soil. Ndlovu, a two-time gold medallist in both the HSBC SVNS Series and the Commonwealth Games, rejoins the squad following the loss of teammates Ryan Oosthuizen and Christie Grobbelaar, who were sidelined during the recent Dubai 7s event.

Additionally, Zander Reynders is also part of the squad and may make his debut during this weekend’s competition. The Blitzboks will kick off their campaign against Ireland on Saturday at 9:44 PM, followed by a highly anticipated match against the reigning Cape Town 7s champions, Argentina, at 4:41 AM on Sunday.

This tournament presents a significant opportunity for the South African team to impress their home crowd and build momentum heading into future competitions. The return of experienced players like Ndlovu could be a game changer, potentially enhancing their performance and chances of clinching the coveted title.

With the support of their home fans and a strong lineup, there’s a sense of optimism surrounding the Blitzboks as they strive for success in Cape Town.
