Bayern’s Resilience Shines Despite Late Equaliser in Thrilling 3-3 Draw

FRANKFURT, Germany – Bayern Munich drew 3-3 with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on Sunday, conceding a late equalizer. Despite being caught on the counter-attack multiple times, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany expressed satisfaction with his team’s effort.

This result marks a continuation of Bayern’s winless streak, as they have not secured a victory in their last three matches across all competitions, following a draw with Bayer Leverkusen and a loss to Aston Villa in the Champions League.

Kompany acknowledged the challenge of facing a strong squad like Eintracht, which was second in the Bundesliga prior to the match. “The performance was positive, as I observed how the team worked hard for each other. While results are important, my focus is on our development against top teams in Germany,” he stated.

Bayern initially took the lead, but Eintracht responded with two quick goals to go ahead 2-1. However, Bayern regained the advantage with goals from Dayot Upamecano and Michael Olise, only for Omar Marmoush to equalize for Eintracht late in the game, marking his second goal.

Kompany noted that all of Eintracht’s goals stemmed from rapid counter-attacks that left Bayern’s defense vulnerable. He acknowledged the team’s shortcomings but stressed the need to concentrate on positive aspects of their play.

Currently, Bayern sits at the top of the Bundesliga standings with 14 points, ahead on goal difference of RB Leipzig, who won 1-0 against Heidenheim earlier in the day. Eintracht remains close behind in third place with 13 points.
