The Bainivualiku Vatulele team is carefully poised for their performance in the final day of the Mick’s Fiji Tours & Transfers Vatulele 7s tournament, being held at the Vatulele District School grounds. Team captain Mosese Naborisi expressed confidence in their preparation during a jersey presentation ceremony led by the Turaga na Tui Vatulele.
Naborisi emphasized that while the training sessions were rigorous, focusing on both fitness and mental health, the true measure of their preparations would be revealed after the tournament concludes. One of the challenges they faced included a rough boat ride to the venue, but he remains undeterred, aiming to leverage their home advantage.
“We are determined to defend our home ground strongly,” he stated, rallying support from the local community to back the team throughout the two-day competition. Following their jersey presentation, the players received encouraging words from their chief, who advised them to play freely and enjoy the experience, which resonated positively with the team.
This illustrates the community spirit and the importance of local support in sports, fostering not only competitive spirit but also a sense of togetherness.
As the tournament wraps up, the enthusiasm shown by the players and their commitment to performing well on home turf can be seen as a source of pride for the Vatulele community, showcasing how sports can unite and uplift local spirits.
