Twenty young athletes came together today at the Vodafone Arena in Suva for a training camp organized by Badminton Fiji. The camp, which welcomed participants aged between nine and 15, focused on teaching the fundamentals of badminton. Attendees engaged in practice matches and were instructed on the equipment essential to the sport.

Abel Caine, the secretary of Badminton Fiji, extended an invitation to parents eager to introduce their children to badminton, encouraging them to attend the next training session scheduled for Tuesday in Hall A of the Vodafone Arena. Caine emphasized the importance of the program, stating that it not only fosters an appreciation for diverse cultures and backgrounds among the participants but also aims to identify potential talent for future development in the sport.

This initiative is part of Badminton Fiji’s broader mission to nurture new talent and promote the sport nationally. To enroll in the program, there is a participation fee of $10. Overall, programs like this contribute to building a solid foundation for badminton in Fiji while helping young people forge lasting friendships and valuable skills in a supportive environment.
