A significant number of parents and guardians gathered today at the Ministry of Education Office to inquire about the $200 Back-To-School assistance aimed at easing their financial burdens as the new school year approaches. Over 100 individuals lined up to ensure their eligibility and finalize the approval for this much-needed support.
Among those present was Siteri Tinai, a mother from Tailevu, who expressed her gratitude for the assistance, stating that the funds have been instrumental in helping her purchase essential school items for her two children. “This has allowed me to buy everything my children need for school from sandals, uniforms to stationeries,” she noted.
Another parent, Ratu Kalaveti Bebenisala, who journeyed from Naitasiri, echoed similar sentiments, explaining how the financial aid has significantly relieved the pressures of preparing his five children for the upcoming school term. “The assistance from the Government has helped my family immensely and has eased the financial pressure of preparing my children for school,” he shared.
Siteri Adi Dreu also welcomed the government initiative, highlighting that the support allows her to cover the remaining school expenses. “I’ve been planning on my children’s school items ahead of the holidays, and the support from the Government has been timely,” she remarked.
Parents and guardians who do not receive their assistance by the end of the day are advised to visit their nearest Ministry of Education district office or the help desk at Waisomo House. This government initiative continues to play a vital role in supporting families as they prepare for the educational needs of their children. The positive feedback from parents signifies the program’s meaningful impact on the community, providing much-needed relief during a busy and often financially taxing time.
