Australia secured the Over 50s championship at the 10th Sanatan World Cup, organized by the Rams Group of Companies, in Sydney today, defeating Viti Boys Canada with a score of 1-0 in a thrilling final.
Vinesh Kumar scored the decisive goal for Australia in the second half. He also received the Golden Ball Award, while Australia’s goalkeeper Manoj Kumar was awarded the Golden Glove. Jitendra Nair from Viti Boys Canada took home the Golden Boot for scoring five goals throughout the tournament.
In another match, NZ Lautoka triumphed in the Over 45 category, overpowering NZ Nadroga with a score of 3-1.
