The NZFFI Auckland All Stars have successfully secured their spot in the grand final of the 2024 Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup following a 2-0 victory over the host team, Lautoka, in the first semifinal held at Churchill Park this morning.
The win was marked by second-half goals from strikers James Hoyt and Mohammed Nabeel, showcasing the strategic prowess of coach Josaia Bukalidi’s team. Lautoka had an opportunity to draw first blood in the match, with striker Sairusi Nalaubu coming close to scoring in the 27th minute. However, his chip shot over goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara hit the crossbar and denied Lautoka a lead.
Now, the Auckland All Stars await the winner of the semifinal match between the USA All Stars and the Manukau All Stars, which is set to take place at 3 PM.
