Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica announced that Investment Fiji is currently managing a pipeline of 184 projects valued at $6.2 billion, up from $4.3 billion last year.
Commenting on the 2024-2025 National Budget, Kamikamica highlighted that a significant part of attracting substantial investments will be through the ‘Ease of Doing Business Project.’ This initiative includes a digital ‘BusinessNow Fiji portal,’ which will serve as a virtual one-stop platform for investors.
Kamikamica emphasized that international trade is crucial for Fiji’s economy. The Ministry has been actively negotiating better trade deals for Fiji, which stands as the only Pacific Islands nation among the 14 members of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.
“Investors will now have access to a single platform incorporating 16 government agencies and offering 25 e-Services by 2025. This will facilitate steps like starting a business and obtaining construction permits, opening up endless opportunities,” Kamikamica stated.
He also mentioned that the Government plans to launch this initiative soon.
