ANZ has reaffirmed its dedication to the Fijian tourism sector by continuing its role as the naming rights sponsor for the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA). This significant event is scheduled to take place on February 28 at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort and Spa.
The longstanding relationship between ANZ and FETA, which has lasted over a decade, highlights the bank’s corporate social responsibility and economic alignment strategies in the South Pacific region. Nathan Wilson, ANZ’s head of Commercial Banking, emphasized in an exclusive interview that the sponsorship goes beyond mere branding; it reflects the bank’s commitment to Fiji’s economic stability and growth.
“ANZ has proudly supported the Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards for many years, including more than a decade as naming rights sponsor. Our involvement reflects ANZ’s deep commitment to Fiji’s long-term economic success,” Mr. Wilson stated.
The tourism sector plays a crucial role in Fiji’s economy, contributing approximately 40 percent and acting as a significant source of foreign exchange and employment. Mr. Wilson noted the extensive influence of tourism on the local community, extending beyond beach resorts to include various sectors.
By supporting the FETA awards, ANZ is not only providing a platform to celebrate excellence in tourism but also recognizing the contributions of industry stakeholders who uphold Fiji’s international reputation. “Supporting these awards is our way of saying ‘We see the impact this industry makes, and we’re right here backing it.’ FETA celebrates the people and businesses that make Fiji shine, aligning perfectly with what ANZ stands for,” Mr. Wilson added.
The partnership between ANZ and FETA signifies a shared understanding that when the tourism industry thrives, Fiji as a whole benefits. The bank’s leadership believes that public endorsements of excellence are essential for boosting morale and encouraging ongoing investment in the sector. This commitment not only highlights the importance of tourism in Fiji but also fosters a hopeful outlook for the country’s continued growth and prosperity in the years to come.
