Fiji-born All Blacks winger Sevu Reece is set to start against Japan on Saturday, positioned on the left wing. This match holds special significance for veteran Blues player Patrick Tuipulotu, who will lead the All Blacks as captain for the first time in his international career. Newcomers Peter Lakai and Ruben Love could potentially make their debuts from the reserves.
In the front row, Tamaiti Williams, Asafo Aumua, and Pasilio Tosi will take their places. The lock pairing consists of Sam Darry and Tuipulotu, while Samipeni Finau and Vice Captain Sam Cane will play on the flanks, with Wallace Sititi at number 8.
Cam Roigard is poised to make his first start at scrum-half, and Damien McKenzie will take up the flyhalf position. Mark Tele’a joins Reece on the wings, while the midfield includes Anton Lienert-Brown and Billy Proctor. Stephen Perofeta will be at fullback.
On the bench, George Bell, Ofa Tu’ungafasi, Fletcher Newell, Josh Lord, and Lakai are set to cover the forwards, while TJ Perenara, David Havili, and Love will be available for the backline. The match is scheduled to kick off at 5:50 PM at Nissan Stadium in Yokohama.
