Adi Cakobau School retained the girls’ division crown at the Triple N Zone Meet 2026 after an assured performance over the two-day competition at the HFC Bank Stadium today, team captain Sereana Macedru said. The defence of their title keeps ACS’s momentum intact as the school turns its focus to the Coca‑Cola Games and the upcoming Fiji Finals.
Macedru, who led her teammates with “determination and composure” throughout the meet, credited faith and strong teamwork for the result. “First of all, I want to thank the Lord for giving us the strength. I also want to thank our stakeholders — the ACS administration, staff members, teachers, old scholars, especially the athletes, and the support from the school as a whole,” she said, praising the network of support behind the squad.
While celebrating the victory, Macedru made clear the team is not complacent. She spoke of room for improvement, particularly in the area of internal unity, and outlined immediate priorities as ACS prepares for the national stage. “We will improve our bond with the coaches and the team because when there is unity, God commands His blessing. We will mainly focus on our bond as a team and then look forward to what that bond will bring us in our results,” she said.
The Triple N Zone Meet serves as one of the key lead‑ups to the Coca‑Cola Games, and ACS’s successful title defence will be watched closely by rivals at the Fiji Finals. Macedru expressed confidence about what lies ahead while maintaining a measured approach. “I am proud of our performance and I look forward to what Coca‑Cola Games is awaiting for us,” she said, indicating the team plans to build on the gains made this weekend.
Macedru also extended thanks to supporters who backed the team through preparation and over the two competition days, singling out the school’s old girls for their encouragement. She paid respect to rival schools, noting the depth of competition helped raise standards across events. “We want to acknowledge all other schools for giving us a competitive vibe throughout the two days,” she said.
With the Triple N title retained, ACS now shifts into an intensive preparation phase aimed at tightening coaching relationships and strengthening squad cohesion. Coaches and athletes will be under pressure to translate the zone meet form into podium finishes at the national finals, where marginal gains and team unity often decide outcomes.
The school’s showing at HFC Bank Stadium confirms ACS remains a leading contender in girls’ school athletics in 2026. How effectively Macedru’s squad converts their confidence and unity work into results at the Coca‑Cola Games will determine whether they can extend this run of dominance on the national stage.
