Maria Sauvou expresses her deep gratitude towards the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, crediting it with saving her daughter from a life of suffering due to Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). Ulamila Naivalu, 16, was diagnosed with RHD when she was just one year old.

After enduring 15 challenging years, Ms. Sauvou was relieved to announce that her daughter underwent a successful operation last Thursday. “It feels like a heavy burden has been lifted off my shoulders. My daughter can now live freely,” she said, adding, “No more worries, no more sleepless nights, no more pain, no more injections.”

Throughout the years, Ms. Sauvou ensured that her daughter was in a positive and supportive environment, constantly encouraging Ulamila to persevere during tough times. She recounted moments when Ulamila’s health would deteriorate, forcing her to rush her to the hospital for urgent treatment. “It was a challenging time for both of us, especially for her,” she shared.

Over the years, Ms. Sauvou searched for treatment options, with surgery becoming the only viable hope for her daughter. Ulamila eventually received care at the Sai Prema Children Hospital. “Upon learning about her diagnosis, I felt as though the world had turned against me. I was heartbroken, especially knowing how young she was, and I lost all hope until Sai Prema Children Hospital entered our lives,” Ms. Sauvou reflected.

She expressed her heartfelt appreciation for institutions like Sai Prema that cater specifically to children with such serious health issues. “For many parents, we are blessed by this foundation; it truly feels like a miracle,” she added.

Ms. Sauvou is now urging other parents to prioritize their children’s health by taking them for regular check-ups. “We may not have a lot of financial resources, but God answers prayers. He guided us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital,” she stated, highlighting the supportive and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff and medical team there. “It truly is a comforting environment.”
