Police were called to the scene this afternoon in response to a social media report of a fight involving students from Nabua Secondary School in Suva. The altercation, which was recorded and circulated online, prompted a swift response from law enforcement. However, by the time the police arrived, the students had already left the scene.

Ana Naisoro, a spokesperson for the police, confirmed that ensuring community safety remains a paramount concern. This incident follows previous youth-related disturbances, such as a recent brawl on Mead Road, which have raised alarms about youth violence in the area. Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has emphasized the need for parental and community involvement in guiding youth behavior, urging families to engage in discussions that promote positive conduct among children.

Local leaders are also advocating for increased community participation in finding peaceful solutions to such conflicts. These recent events highlight the vital role of open communication and proactive community engagement in promoting a safer and more supportive environment for young people. By focusing on mentorship and fostering strong educational settings, there is optimism that fewer conflicts will arise and community ties will strengthen.
