The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on their Under-19 players during the FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC), which will commence on October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu mentioned that the team is preparing thoroughly as they ready themselves to head to Churchill Park in Lautoka.
They have been placed in Group B of the Premier division alongside Tavua and Savusavu. Manu noted that Tailevu/Naitasiri has previously only secured victories in the Senior division at the IDC and is eager to aim for the Premier division title this time.
He acknowledged that both opposing teams are striving to achieve strong results since this tournament is the final one of the year. “It’s definitely a tough group with Tavua, who have just been promoted,” he remarked. “We will give it our best effort. Most of our Under-19 and youth players will take part in the IDC to gain valuable experience. We plan to make a significant impact come game day.”
The IDC tournament runs from October 15 to October 20.
