Youngest Lawyer Opens Firm, Challenging Business Norms in Labasa

Rikshal Dayal, a 30-year-old from Wailevu, Labasa, has demonstrated that age is not a barrier to entrepreneurship by launching his own law firm, Rikshal Dayal Lawyers, in Labasa Town. The firm officially opened on Thursday at Savilla House, located on Jaduram Street, shop number 14, following a personal investment of $10,000.

Having graduated with a Bachelor of Law from the University of the South Pacific in 2019, Mr. Dayal gained practical experience working for six years at Sarju Prasad Esquire. He expressed that becoming the first lawyer in his family fueled his dream of establishing a law firm aimed at serving his community.

Despite acknowledging the competitive nature of the legal field, Mr. Dayal is confident in his ability to deliver outstanding legal services. He understands that starting a business comes with inherent risks, but he is emotionally prepared to handle them as they arise.

Addressing concerns about the job market in Labasa, Dayal encourages residents to consider entrepreneurship and leverage their skills and talents. He mentioned the rapid growth of Labasa Town, emphasizing the demand for new entrepreneurs to meet the evolving needs of the local population.

Mr. Dayal also expressed gratitude to his family, wife, and in-laws for their support in establishing his firm. The office will operate Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday from 8:30 AM to 12 PM, with one administrative staff member assisting him.
