Fifteen-year-old Nehemiah Elder is gearing up for the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship in Fiji, scheduled for September 17-21, just three weeks away. As the event draws near, Nehemiah is dedicated to his training and feels confident as he competes in the 89kg category, poised to represent Fiji on an international level.

Nehemiah hails from a lineage of weightlifting champions, following the path laid by his father and coach, Henry Elder, as well as his older brothers. Despite being young, Nehemiah has already established himself in the sport by breaking three Oceania records in the 73kg division. Now, as he transitions to a heavier category, he is more committed than ever to make his country proud.
