Young Stars Join Fijian Drua Development Program for 2025 Season!

The Fijian Drua has announced the signing of national under-20 players Breyton Legge and John Muller as part of the club’s Development programme for the 2025 season. This programme serves as a vital pathway to the main Super Rugby Pacific team.

Breyton Legge, a loosehead prop, has represented the Fiji Under-20 team nine times since 2022 and recently competed in the U20 World Rugby Championship held in South Africa. Expressing his enthusiasm, Legge stated, “It feels great. I’ve always dreamed of playing for my country and participating in the Super Rugby competition.”

John Muller also took part in the U20 World Cup in 2021 and was a member of the Fiji Warriors team that claimed victory in the Pacific Rugby Cup in 2023. He has served as the captain for Northland rugby team in the local provincial competition this season. Muller shared his excitement, saying, “It is a dream come true, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Fijian Drua. I can’t wait to start training with the team.”

Ifereimi Rawaqa, the Development and Skills Coach for Fijian Drua, commented on the new signings, noting that both players were part of Fiji Rugby’s High-Performance Unit (HPU) programme and that their inclusion in Drua Development adds valuable depth to the prop positions. He praised Legge as a skilled and quick learner, while describing Muller as a diligent player who brings intensity to both offense and defense. Rawaqa believes that under Drua’s professional development, both players will successfully advance to higher levels.

In the last two years, several development players have progressed to secure Super Rugby Pacific contracts, including Livai Natave, Philip Baselala, Taniela Rakuro, Motikiai Murray, Mesake Vocevoce, and Sikeli Rabitu.
