Aanvi Prerna Prasad, the head girl of Lautoka Central Primary School, has achieved an impressive score of 491 in the Fiji Eighth Year Examination, surpassing the 400 mark that many aspire to. Her outstanding performance included remarkable individual subject scores: 98 in English, 96 in Mathematics, 100 in Basic Science, 99 in Healthy Living, and 98 in Social Science.
The 13-year-old expressed her happiness about making her parents proud and shared her gratitude, particularly towards her father, Ronil Prasad, who supported her study preparations. Aanvi also acknowledged her class teacher, Mrs. Iva, for her encouragement and belief in her abilities. Reflecting on her study routine, she mentioned waking up at 4 AM to adhere to her study schedule. Despite obstacles that made her doubt her capabilities at times, she credits her success to her faith in God.
Looking ahead, Aanvi is set to enroll at Natabua High School for Year 9 and has big dreams of becoming a pilot or an astronaut.
On a broader scale, a total of 18,968 students participated in the examination across 712 centers. Education Minister Aseri Radrodro shared that this year’s pass rate was 69%, an increase from 67% in 2023. He extended congratulations and appreciation to the students, teachers, and parents for their efforts.
