Aanvi Prasad’s hard work and dedication have truly paid off, as she ranks among the top scorers in the 2024 Fiji Eighth Year Examination. The Year 8 student from Lautoka Central Primary School achieved an impressive score of 491 out of 500 marks, realizing her dream of being the highest scorer.
Aanvi attributes her success to the sacrifices and commitment she made throughout the year. “I worked towards my goal by setting timetables and staying dedicated to my schoolwork. I always told my parents that I wanted to be a top scorer and to excel in all my exams. I am thrilled to have achieved that,” she explained.
At just 13 years old, Aanvi serves as head girl, highlighting her leadership skills and determination. She acknowledged the challenges posed by her competitors, who often doubted her potential. “They would say that achieving the highest mark in the final examination was impossible, which occasionally caused me to lose hope. However, I am grateful to my parents and teachers for encouraging me that anything is attainable,” she stated.
Her father, Ronil Prasad, expressed immense pride in his daughter’s accomplishment. “I am a proud dad. The investment we made in her education has truly paid off, and it’s a remarkable feeling for us as parents to witness such achievements from our children,” he said.
Looking ahead, Aanvi plans to continue her academic journey at Natabua High School next year. Notably, she shares this triumph with Viola Ravutubananitu from Tagitagi Sangam School in Ba, who also achieved the same score of 491 marks.
This story is an inspiring reminder of the importance of perseverance and support from family and teachers in achieving one’s goals. Aanvi’s dedication serves as a beacon of hope for students everywhere, proving that hard work and determination can lead to remarkable successes.
