Sixteen-year-old Annie May from Savusavu FC has been appointed captain of the Digicel Fiji Junior Kulas for the upcoming OFC U-16 Women’s Championship. She will be joined by vice-captain Ulamila Rasovsova as the team gears up for the tournament, which begins this Sunday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Teams from Samoa, New Zealand, Tonga, Cook Islands, Tahiti, and Solomon Islands have already arrived in Fiji and are acclimating well in preparation for the competition. Meanwhile, the New Caledonia team is experiencing delays in arrival due to flight issues but is expected to join the other teams shortly.
Under the guidance of coach Marika Rodu, the Fiji squad is scheduled to play their first match against Tonga at 3 pm this Sunday.
