Fariza Ali, the dux of Labasa Muslim Primary School, drew inspiration from the renowned physicist Albert Einstein as she celebrated her remarkable achievement. Scoring an impressive 461 out of 500 marks during the recent annual prize-giving ceremony, the Year 8 student expressed her determination to improve even further in the upcoming year.

As part of her journey towards becoming a dentist, Fariza has enrolled at Labasa College with aspirations of earning honorary doctorate degrees in science, medicine, and philosophy, akin to those awarded to Einstein. At just 14 years old and hailing from Nanuku St, Labasa, she highlighted the successes of her four siblings—who include a police officer, a doctor, a clerical officer, and a Fiji National University student—as sources of motivation for her own academic pursuits.

Fariza shared her gratitude towards her parents, Tajmoon Nisha and Ashmat Ali, who have worked hard to support their family of five children. Her father is the sole provider, managing Tebara Halal Meats Limited in Labasa.

“Being the youngest, I get what I need, but I don’t believe in abusing my freedom,” Fariza reflected. She emphasized the importance of hard work instilled by her parents and acknowledged her fortunate position to receive a quality education and choose her career path.

Aiyub Khan, the manager of Labasa Muslim Primary School, announced that the school is now open for enrollments for the next academic year, assuring that any student without placement elsewhere would be welcomed.

This story not only highlights the academic achievements of a talented young student like Fariza but also serves as a reminder of the importance of family support and strong aspirations. With her drive and the encouragement from her family, Fariza is well on her way to realizing her dreams.

In summary, this inspiring narrative underscored Fariza Ali’s educational triumphs and future ambitions, reinforced by the values of hard work and responsibility imparted by her family.
