Young Scholar Aims for the Stars After Exam Triumph

Aanvi Prerna Prasad has achieved extraordinary success by scoring 491 out of a possible 600 in the Fiji Eighth Year Examination, a remarkable feat that has made her family proud. As the head girl of Lautoka Central Primary School, Aanvi excelled in her subjects, earning impressive marks: 98 in English, 96 in Mathematics, 100 in Basic Science, 99 in Healthy Living, and 98 in Social Science.

Expressing her joy, Aanvi shared her gratitude toward her father, Ronil Prasad, for his invaluable support during her exam preparations. She also recognized the significant impact of her class teacher, Mrs. Iva, whose encouragement helped her overcome self-doubt. Despite the challenges, Aanvi remained disciplined, waking up at 4 a.m. to adhere to her study timetable. She attributed her success to her perseverance and faith, stating that it was through God that she achieved such high marks.

Looking ahead, the ambitious 13-year-old plans to enroll at Natabua High School for Year 9 and aspires to become a pilot or an astronaut in the future. Her success comes amidst a larger context, as a total of 18,968 students participated in the examination conducted across 712 centers. The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, highlighted an encouraging 69 percent pass rate for this year’s examination, slightly up from 67 percent in 2023. He congratulated the students, teachers, and parents for their hard work and dedication.
