Rikshal Dayal, a 30-year-old from Wailevu, Labasa, has taken a significant step towards entrepreneurship by launching his own law firm, Rikshal Dayal Lawyers, in Labasa Town. Mr. Dayal opened the new office on Thursday at Savilla House, Jaduram Street, shop number 14, with an investment of $10,000.

Having graduated from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Law in 2019, Mr. Dayal worked for six years at Sarju Prasad Esquire before embarking on this new venture. He has become the first lawyer in his family and always aspired to establish a law firm to serve his community back home.

Despite recognizing the competitive nature of the legal field, Mr. Dayal is confident in his ability to provide exceptional service. He emphasizes the inevitability of risks associated with starting a business and feels well-prepared to tackle them. He also addressed the common sentiment in Labasa about the lack of job opportunities, encouraging others to harness their skills to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.

Mr. Dayal highlighted the rapid growth of Labasa Town and the need for new entrepreneurs to contribute to its development. He expressed his gratitude to his family, wife, and in-laws for their support in setting up the firm. The law office will operate from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturday, 8:30 AM to 12 PM, staffed by one administrative employee.

This story underlines the idea that age should not be a barrier to pursuing one’s dreams. With the right mindset and support, anyone can take the leap into entrepreneurship. Mr. Dayal’s initiative reflects a spirit of resilience and hope for the future of small businesses in the region, potentially inspiring others to follow in his footsteps.
