Rikshal Dayal, a resident of Wailevu in Labasa, has shattered age-related stereotypes by launching his own law firm, Rikshal Dayal Lawyers, at the young age of 30. His office officially opened on Thursday and is located in Savilla House on Jaduram Street, shop number 14. Mr. Dayal made a personal investment of $10,000 to establish the firm.
After earning his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of the South Pacific in 2019, Mr. Dayal honed his skills while employed at Sarju Prasad Esquire for six years. As the first lawyer in his family, he has always aspired to create his own law practice, aiming to better serve his community in Labasa.
Mr. Dayal acknowledges the competitive nature of the legal field but is confident in his ability to deliver quality service. “No matter what kind of business we do, there will always be risks involved, and I am fully prepared for it,” he stated. He urged others in Labasa, where job opportunities are reportedly scarce, to consider entrepreneurship as a viable option to utilize their skills and talents.
He expressed optimism for Labasa’s economic growth, noting that the town demands fresh entrepreneurial efforts. Mr. Dayal also recognized the support he received from his family, wife, and in-laws in launching his business, which currently employs one administration staff member. The firm will operate Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM and on Saturday from 8:30 AM to 12 PM.
This inspiring story emphasizes the importance of determination and courage in pursuing one’s dreams. It serves as a reminder that age should not be a barrier to entrepreneurship, and with community support and individual courage, new business ventures can thrive, contributing to local economic growth.
The hopeful message here is that Labasa, with its fast-paced development, can benefit significantly from ambitious young professionals like Mr. Dayal, who are willing to take risks to foster change and create opportunities for themselves and others in their community.
