Rikshal Dayal, a 30-year-old entrepreneur from Wailevu, Labasa, is challenging the notion that age is a barrier to starting a business. On Thursday, he opened his own law firm, Rikshal Dayal Lawyers, in Labasa Town, marking a significant milestone in his career. The firm is located at Savilla House on Jaduram Street, shop number 14, and Mr. Dayal invested $10,000 to establish this venture.

Having graduated from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Law in 2019, he spent six years gaining valuable experience at Sarju Prasad Esquire before launching his own practice. “As the first lawyer in my family, I’ve always dreamed of serving my community by running my own law firm,” Mr. Dayal expressed. Despite the competitive landscape of the legal field, he is confident in his ability to provide exceptional service to clients.

Mr. Dayal acknowledges the risks inherent in entrepreneurship but remains optimistic about his journey. He encourages others skeptical about job opportunities in Labasa to consider creating their own businesses, emphasizing the town’s rapid growth and the need for new entrepreneurs. He expressed gratitude to his family, wife, and in-laws for their support in establishing his firm.

The office will operate from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 12 PM, with one administration staff member assisting him.

This inspiring story highlights the power of determination and the potential for young individuals to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Mr. Dayal’s journey serves as a reminder that with passion, support, and a willingness to take risks, entrepreneurs can thrive even in challenging circumstances.

Not only does Mr. Dayal’s venture contribute to the local economy, but it also serves as a beacon of hope for aspiring business owners in Labasa, reinforcing the idea that it is never too late—or too early—to pursue one’s dreams.
