Young Kulas’ Journey: Lessons Learned at FIFA U-20 World Cup

As the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup continues, the Digicel Fiji Young Kulas are gaining essential experience from each match, according to midfielder Talei Moodie.

Moodie remarked on the team’s journey, saying, “It’s another level to this soccer world.” She acknowledged that this is their first appearance in the tournament, and they expected to face challenges in unfamiliar situations. “It’s a really good learning experience, and I believe it will motivate us moving forward,” she added.

In their recent match, the team faced a tough defeat, losing 9-0 to Canada. However, Head Coach Angelina Chua praised her players for their resilience and bravery, particularly in the second half of the game. “We regroup, we want to improve always from the last game,” Chua emphasized. “We play football to score goals, so that will still remain our objective.”

Looking ahead, the Young Kulas are preparing to take on France in their final match of the tournament on Saturday.
