The Digicel Fiji Young Kulas have concluded a training camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra as they gear up for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia this August.
The week-long training session involved 19 players and emphasized skill enhancement and team cohesion. Under the guidance of coach Angeline Chua, the Young Kulas participated in rigorous training and contested two demanding matches.
In their first match against the Future Matildas, they faced a tough challenge and lost 10-0. They also played against Canberra Olympic, suffering a close defeat of 2-0.
Although the outcomes were not in their favor, these matches were instrumental in evaluating the team’s readiness and offered invaluable experience against higher-caliber teams.
Now back in Fiji, the Young Kulas will continue their preparations with further training sessions before heading to the U.S. and Costa Rica for more camps and matches.
