The Digicel Fiji Young Kulas have concluded a training camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra as part of their preparations for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia this August.
The week-long camp included 19 players and focused on enhancing skills and team cohesion. Under the guidance of coach Angeline Chua, the Young Kulas participated in rigorous training and took part in two challenging matches.
They faced a significant challenge against the Future Matildas, suffering a 10-0 defeat, and also played against Canberra Olympic, where they lost narrowly with a score of 2-0.
Despite the outcomes, these matches were crucial for evaluating the team’s readiness and offered valuable experience against high-level competition.
Now back in Fiji, the Young Kulas are continuing their preparations with additional training sessions. They are set to travel to the U.S. and Costa Rica for more camps and matches.
