Aanvi Prasad’s dedication and hard work have earned her a remarkable achievement as one of the top scorers in the 2024 Fiji Eighth Year Examination. The 13-year-old student from Lautoka Central Primary School achieved an impressive score of 491 out of 500, a testament to her commitment and perseverance throughout the year.

Aanvi expressed her determination, stating, “It was my dream to be the highest scorer, and I sacrificed for it.” She meticulously planned her study routine and remained focused on her academic goals, communicating her aspirations to her parents. “With the sacrifices that I made throughout the year, I always told my parents that I wanted to be a high scorer and to get the first place in all my exams. I am happy that I achieved it,” she added.

As the head girl of her school, Aanvi acknowledged the challenges posed by her competitors, who sometimes discouraged her by claiming it was impossible to attain the top marks. “Sometimes it made me lose hope, but I am thankful to my parents and teachers for encouraging me that anything is possible,” she reflected.

Her father, Ronil Prasad, expressed immense pride in his daughter’s accomplishments. “I am a proud dad. It was a great investment that we as parents made in our daughter’s education. We have seen the fruit of it. It is a different feeling as a parent to experience such an achievement from our children,” he said.

In addition to Aanvi’s achievement, Viola Ravutubananitu from Tagitagi Sangam School in Ba also scored 491 marks, underscoring the high level of competition in this examination.

As Aanvi prepares to further her education at Natabua High School next year, her story serves as an inspiring reminder of the power of dedication, hard work, and the support of loved ones in achieving one’s dreams.

This narrative not only highlights the importance of education but also encourages young students to pursue their aspirations with determination and resilience.
