Young Fiji 7s hopeful trains with national stars ahead of Dubai 7s

For Suliano Savenaca, the opportunity to train with some of Fiji’s leading rugby sevens players has been a remarkable experience. The young talent from Cakaudrove is one of two selected from the Ratu Kadavulevu School under-18 team to join the Fiji 7s development squad, a significant accomplishment that he cherishes deeply.

Expressing his gratitude, Savenaca describes training alongside these accomplished athletes as a dream come true. “I’m very thankful for this opportunity. Most of these players I only see on TV, but to be training with them is like a dream come true. I thank the coaches for giving me this chance, and I hope one day I get to represent the country,” he shared. His enthusiasm highlights the importance of mentorship and the learning environment fostered by experienced players, which he believes will aid in his growth as an athlete.

This inclusion comes as Fiji prepares for the upcoming Dubai 7s tournament, with the final squad expected to be announced soon. As they gear up for this prestigious event, there is a sense of hope and excitement surrounding the team and its emerging talents. Just as Kavekini Tanivanuakula, another promising player from the extended squad, has expressed gratitude for his opportunity to compete at an international level, Savenaca’s journey underscores the dedication and passion present within Fiji’s rugby community.

The collective aspirations of these young athletes not only bolster their spirits but also embody the hopes of Fijian rugby fans as they look forward to seeing their nation represented on the world stage. With intense training and close-knit camaraderie, these players are poised to make their mark, inspiring future generations along the way.
