The Education Ministry has announced an 86% pass rate for Year 13 students this year, down from the 91% recorded in 2023.

Despite the overall decline, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro applauded several schools for their improved performance. Notably, Adi Cakobau School raised its pass rate from 97% to 98%, while Vunisea Secondary made significant strides, increasing its rate from 83% to 97%.

Ten secondary schools achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate this year. These included Nadarivatu Secondary, Nilsen High, Tavua District Secondary, Ratu Finau Secondary, South Taveuni Secondary, Nasesevia Secondary, Valebasoga Secondary, Duavata Secondary, Rewa Secondary, and Jai Narayan College.

Minister Radrodro also urged parents and guardians to actively support students as they embark on their academic or career paths.

This year’s results highlight both the challenges and achievements within the education sector. While the overall pass rate may have decreased, the success of individual schools and students offers a promising outlook for the future.

Parents’ encouragement and support will be crucial in motivating students to achieve their goals, suggesting that the education community remains resilient and committed to fostering success.
