The Education Ministry has announced a pass rate of 86% for Year 13 students this year, a decline from the previous year’s rate of 91%.

Despite this drop, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro praised several schools for their achievements, noting particularly Adi Cakobau School, which saw its pass rate rise from 97% to 98%, and Vunisea Secondary, which jumped from 83% to an impressive 97%.

Additionally, ten secondary schools excelled by achieving a perfect 100% pass rate this year. These schools include Nadarivatu Secondary, Nilsen High, Tavua District Secondary, Ratu Finau Secondary, South Taveuni Secondary, Nasesevia Secondary, Valebasoga Secondary, Duavata Secondary, Rewa Secondary, and Jai Narayan College.

Minister Radrodro encouraged parents and guardians to continue supporting students as they embark on their academic and career journeys.

This year’s slight decline in the overall pass rate can be viewed as an opportunity for schools and educators to reassess their strategies and programs. With a strong focus on improvement, there is potential for a resurgence in performance in the coming years. The notable successes of specific schools highlight that dedication and hard work can lead to significant achievements, inspiring others to aim for excellence.
