The Education Ministry has announced that the pass rate for Year 13 this year stands at 86%, which reflects a decline from last year’s rate of 91%.
However, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro expressed pride in schools that have shown improvement in their results. Notably, Adi Cakobau School saw an increase from 97% to 98%, while Vunisea Secondary’s pass rate surged from 83% to 97%.
In a remarkable achievement, ten secondary schools attained a perfect pass rate of 100%. These schools include Nadarivatu Secondary, Nilsen High, Tavua District Secondary, Ratu Finau Secondary, South Taveuni Secondary, Nasesevia Secondary, Valebasoga Secondary, Duavata Secondary, Rewa Secondary, and Jai Narayan College.
Minister Radrodro encouraged parents and guardians to continue their support for students as they embark on their respective academic and career journeys.
This year’s results, while showing a decline in the overall pass rate, highlight significant individual successes and improvements in various schools, suggesting a potential for future excellence. The encouragement for parental support also underscores the importance of community involvement in education, as it can play a crucial role in helping students achieve their aspirations.
