The Education Ministry has announced a Year 13 pass rate of 86% for this year, marking a decline from 91% in 2023. However, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro praised several schools for their improved results, highlighting Adi Cakobau School, which increased its pass rate from 97% to 98%, and Vunisea Secondary, which saw a significant rise from 83% to 97%.
In a noteworthy achievement, ten secondary schools attained a perfect pass rate of 100%. These schools include Nadarivatu Secondary, Nilsen High, Tavua District Secondary, Ratu Finau Secondary, South Taveuni Secondary, Nasesevia Secondary, Valebasoga Secondary, Duavata Secondary, Rewa Secondary, and Jai Narayan College.
Minister Radrodro urged parents and guardians to continue supporting students as they embark on their academic or career pathways.
This year’s results, while showing a decrease in the overall pass rate, still reflect the hard work and dedication of both students and educators, as evidenced by the schools that demonstrated significant improvements. Encouragingly, the commitment to academic excellence remains strong, and the perfect pass rates achieved by several institutions illustrate the potential for growth and success in the education system.
In summary, although the overall Year 13 pass rate has declined this year, specific schools have demonstrated remarkable improvement, and the emphasis on support from families continues to be pivotal for student success.
