Content creator Lui Vuibureta, known as Xcon, faced further remand at the Suva Magistrates Court today, following allegations of breaching three bail conditions. Appearing before Magistrate Lisiate Fotofili, Vuibureta’s case has attracted significant attention due to the nature of the charges against him.

During today’s proceedings, Magistrate Fotofili instructed the DPP lawyer, Triveshni Sharma, to compile the bail breach charges alongside the main case for submission in the High Court. This substantive matter is scheduled to be addressed in the Suva High Court this Friday, where the court will seek guidance on issues related to online offenses.

As part of the court’s directive, the state was advised to postpone the filing of breaches of bail offenses to ensure that all related files remain consolidated within a single court. The DPP communicated to the court that they would inform police prosecution of this decision.

Vuibureta’s plea remains deferred for the time being, with the case set to be revisited on the 17th of next month. The accusations against him stem from an incident on August 14, 2025, in Nadi, where he reportedly made derogatory comments about a government minister while live streaming on TikTok.

This case highlights the ongoing scrutiny of social media conduct and its implications within the legal framework, emphasizing the importance of adhering to legal obligations while engaging in digital content creation. As the legal proceedings unfold, many will be watching closely to see how they will address issues surrounding digital expression and accountability.
