Naitasiri Women’s rugby team, under the guidance of coach Fika Vucago Seruitanoa, celebrated a commanding 75-0 victory over Yasawa in their Marama Championship opener. However, Seruitanoa emphasized that the impressive scoreline was not the sole focus; rather, the team’s dedication to remaining grounded and adhering to their game plan was crucial.

Seruitanoa reiterated the importance of teamwork, communication, and humility as his team prepared for the match. “My message was clear: align yourselves with the training we’ve been doing, connect and communicate on the field, remain humble, and play according to the game plan,” he stated.

Despite the overwhelming win, the coach acknowledged that there is still much work to be done. He expressed enthusiasm for the team’s performance but is keen on addressing areas for improvement as they move forward in the championship. “We have a long journey ahead, and while winning by such a margin is great, we recognize there are aspects we need to refine,” Seruitanoa remarked.

As Naitasiri looks forward to Round 2, they remain focused on building upon their strong start. The combination of a disciplined game approach and proactive communication on the field could serve as key elements for continued success in the tournament.

This message of humility and continuous improvement can inspire not just the team, but all athletes to maintain a growth mindset, regardless of their performance outcomes.
