As Christmas approaches, the Fiji Police Force has ramped up nighttime operations nationwide to enhance community safety during the busy festive season. With just three days until the holiday, police are intensifying stop-and-search checks on vehicles and monitoring youths who may be loitering, emphasizing their crime prevention and public safety mandate.

The frontline teams have been mobilized after dark, focusing their efforts on deterring unlawful activities in areas that see increased movement and are more susceptible to crime this time of year. The police have expressed their gratitude to the public for their cooperation, highlighting the important role community support plays in upholding law and order during the holidays.

Authorities are encouraging the public to stay vigilant and to report any suspicious activity or movement of people and vehicles. Residents can reach out to Crimestoppers at 919 or the National Command Centre at 990 5296 with any concerns.

The Fiji Police Force is underlining that safety and security during the festive season is a collective effort, and stresses that collaboration between law enforcement and community members is essential to ensure a safe and peaceful Christmas for everyone. This initiative not only aims to prevent crime but also fosters a sense of unity and cooperation within communities during this joyous time of year.
