Westpac Bank is taking significant steps to enhance its relationships within the Pacific region, particularly through frequent visits from senior executives based in Australia. Recently, Emma Low, the Managing Director of Westpac Pacific, traveled to Fiji where she met with both staff members and customers.

During her visit, Low highlighted Westpac’s dedication to empowering women in the workplace and emphasized the bank’s mission to provide innovative solutions for its clientele in Fiji and the broader Pacific area. Shane Smith, the CEO of Westpac Fiji, remarked on the significance of this commitment.

Additionally, Low had the opportunity to engage with the Women of Westpac (WoW) Fiji group in Namaka, Nadi. This group, a part of Westpac’s broader WoW Australia initiative, serves as one of the bank’s major employee advocacy organizations aimed at supporting women in their professional journeys.

During her meeting with around 40 female employees, Low stressed the importance of mentorship, work-life balance, emotional well-being, and career advancement. She expressed a commitment to nurturing both current and aspiring female leaders within Westpac’s Pacific operations.

Furthermore, Low visited the historic Levuka Branch, established in 1909, where a team of four staff members continues to foster strong ties with the local community. She praised their exceptional commitment to customer service, underscoring the value such relationships bring to Westpac.

This growing focus on engagement and support for women, along with a commitment to community connection, reflects Westpac’s forward-thinking approach in the Pacific region. By empowering its workforce and strengthening ties with local communities, Westpac is setting a positive precedent for corporate responsibility and leadership in the banking industry.

In summary, Westpac Bank is not only enhancing its business connections in the Pacific but is also championing women’s empowerment and community engagement, paving the way for a brighter and more equitable future in the workplace and beyond.
