Westpac Fiji has launched significant renovations at its main branch located in Suva, aiming to enhance the banking experience for its customers. Established as the Bank of New South Wales on August 12, 1901, the institution rebranded as Westpac House in 2015 and has since remained a pillar of the community.
The bank’s refurbishment efforts promise a modernised layout, improved accessibility, and upgraded facilities, all designed to facilitate faster and more convenient banking for customers. According to Shane Smith, the chief executive officer of Westpac Fiji, this investment reflects the bank’s longstanding commitment to its clientele and the broader community.
“We are excited to bring a refreshed and modern banking environment to our Thomson St customers,” Smith stated, assuring that while the physical appearance of the branch may change, their dedication to reliable and customer-focused service will not. He expressed gratitude for the customers’ patience during the renovation process, emphasizing that the branch will remain open and fully operational, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential banking services.
In addition to the renovations, Westpac is enhancing its customer-first approach by expanding its leadership team’s outreach efforts this year. They will be visiting business owners, community partners, and industry leaders to gather insights and adapt financial solutions to meet customer needs effectively. Smith noted, “Our commitment is to grow alongside our customers and contribute to stronger, more inclusive economic outcomes across the country.”
The bank has already engaged with various regions, traveling to Suva as well as areas in the Western Division, including Ba and Lautoka, as well as Rakiraki, the Coral Coast, and the Northern Division, reaching back to Savusavu and Labasa. This proactive approach highlights Westpac Fiji’s dedication to developing relationships with its customers and understanding their unique operational environments.
