Westpac Fiji and Rotary Deliver Diwali Hampers to 550+ Families

In a significant effort to spread joy during the Festival of Lights, Westpac Fiji has teamed up with the Rotary Club of Fiji to distribute Diwali hampers to over 550 families nationwide. This initiative is part of their continued commitment to support local communities and honor Fiji’s rich cultural diversity during one of the most celebrated holidays in the region.

Shane Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Westpac Fiji, highlighted the importance of community spirit in their mission. He stated, “At Westpac, we believe in the power of community and giving back. This Diwali, we have once again partnered with Rotary Clubs across Fiji to support families most in need, continuing a tradition we are proud to uphold.”

This partnership with the Rotary Club of Suva Peninsula Sunset reflects a collaborative approach in aiding those less fortunate. President Ravikash Chand emphasized the collective impact of their efforts, noting, “Together, we are helping make Diwali a brighter occasion for those who might otherwise go without. Working alongside Westpac allows us to extend our reach and deliver meaningful support to families during this very special holiday in Fiji.”

Since the collaboration began in 2020, Westpac and Rotary have successfully distributed over 2,250 hampers, each valued at around $60 and filled with essential grocery items and sweets. This year’s distribution not only reinforces the significance of communal ties but also showcases the spirits of generosity and unity that the Diwali celebration embodies.

As the number of hampers distributed continues to rise, Westpac’s partnership with the Rotary Club not only aids families in celebrating Diwali but also fosters an enduring sense of togetherness within the Fijian community. Such initiatives remind us all of the positive difference that can be made when organizations and individuals unite for a common cause, particularly during festive times.
