Two western schools have reached the under-18 semi-finals of the Vodafone Super Deans tournament. Cuvu College and Ratu Navula College thrilled their supporters with impressive performances in Suva.

Cuvu College pulled off a surprising 23-22 victory over the formidable Ratu Kadavulevu School. Meanwhile, Ratu Navula made a strong comeback in the second half, defeating Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School 16-10, ending their hopes of advancing.

Nasinu Secondary School was the first to secure a spot in the semi-finals, narrowly edging out Tailevu North College with a score of 17-13. Defending champions Queen Victoria School faced considerable challenges from Marist Brothers High School in the final quarter-final match. Despite starting strong and accumulating 13 points, Queen Victoria School managed to hold on to a 13-6 lead, aided by Marist’s Saiasi Fuli, who scored points but could not close the gap in time.

As a result, Nasinu will compete against Cuvu College in the first semi-final, while Queen Victoria School will face Ratu Navula College. The semi-finals are scheduled to take place in Suva next Saturday.
