Two schools from the western region have secured spots in the under-18 semi-finals of the Vodafone Super Deans rugby tournament. Cuvu College and Ratu Navula College showcased impressive performances in Suva, delighting their supporters.
Cuvu College achieved a thrilling 23-22 victory over the eastern powerhouse, Ratu Kadavulevu School, while Ratu Navula mounted a strong comeback in the second half to defeat Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School 16-10, ending their remarkable journey in the tournament.
Nasinu Secondary School was the first team to reach the semi-finals, narrowly overcoming Tailevu North College 17-13. Meanwhile, defending champions Queen Victoria School faced a tough challenge from Marist Brothers High School in the final quarter-final match. Queen Victoria School started strong, scoring 13 points, while Marist managed six points through Saiasi Fuli. However, time ran out for Marist as QVS emerged victorious.
With these results, Nasinu will face Cuvu College in the first semi-final, and Queen Victoria School will compete against Ratu Navula College. The semi-finals are scheduled to take place in Suva next Saturday.
