Two schools from the west have reached the under-18 semi-finals of the Vodafone Super Deans tournament. Cuvu College and Ratu Navula College showcased impressive performances in Suva, thrilling their supporters.
Cuvu College achieved a surprising victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School with a close score of 23-22. Meanwhile, Ratu Navula made a strong comeback in the second half to defeat Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School 16-10, ending their remarkable run in the competition.
Nasinu Secondary School was the first to secure a spot in the semi-finals, narrowly defeating Tailevu North College 17-13. In the final quarter-final match, defending champions Queen Victoria School faced a challenging game against Marist Brothers High School. Despite starting strong with 13 points, Marist managed to score six points from Saiasi Fuli’s kicks, but could not overcome the deficit as QVS held on to their lead.
As a result of these matches, the upcoming semi-finals will see Nasinu Secondary School face Cuvu College, while Queen Victoria School will take on Ratu Navula College. The semi-finals are scheduled to take place in Suva next Saturday.
