Western Force Makes Waves with Major Signing!

The Western Force has made a significant addition to their roster by signing Sera Naiqama, a four-time Super Rugby Women’s champion and Wallaroos lock, from the NSW Waratahs. The 29-year-old athlete participated in the previous Women’s Rugby World Cup and played in three out of four matches for the Wallaroos.

Naiqama aims to be part of Australia’s squad for the upcoming World Cup, which is set to take place on home ground in 2025. Since her debut against Japan in May 2022, she has accumulated 13 caps for the national team.

Throughout her six seasons with the NSW Waratahs in Super W, she made 26 appearances and scored two tries, launching her career with a debut try against the ACT Brumbies in 2019. Her contributions were pivotal in securing four Super W titles for the Waratahs, with the most recent victory occurring in 2024 when they defeated the Fijiana Drua 50-14 in the Grand Final.

Recently, Naiqama has been actively competing, playing for Sydney University in the NSW Jack Scott Cup, representing the Barbarians in Cape Town, and participating in a match for Australia A against Samoa two weeks ago.

Naiqama shared her enthusiasm about joining the Force, who reached the Super W finals for the first time in 2024. She looks forward to contributing to the team’s progression while also working towards her goal of competing in the 2025 Women’s World Cup. She has officially signed on for the 2025 Super W season and will be traveling to Perth this Sunday to begin pre-season training before the team’s Japan tour scheduled for October and November.
