Premier League Showdown: Will Tavua Finally Find Their Groove?

Weekend Showdown: Extra Premier League Action Heats Up!

This weekend marks the fourth round of matches in the Extra Premier League, with eight teams poised to compete. On Saturday, Tavua, looking to bounce back from two disappointing matches, will face off against Suva at Garvey Park at 3 PM.

Sunday’s action will feature three additional matches: Nadroga clashing with Nadi at 1 PM at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, followed by Nasinu taking on Ba at 3 PM at the Uprising Sports Complex in Pacific Harbour, and Lautoka going head-to-head with Labasa at Churchill Park.

However, Premier League leaders Navua FC will not be in action this weekend. Their scheduled match against Rewa has been postponed due to six of Rewa’s players being called up to represent the national team in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in New Zealand.

Currently, Navua sits atop the league standings with six points, but they will need to keep their momentum upon returning to play. Behind them, Labasa and Suva are closely trailing with four points each. Nadi and Nasinu have gathered three points thus far, while Ba has managed two points from two draws. Rewa and Nadroga have each earned just one point, and both Lautoka and Tavua are yet to secure their first points of the season.

The league’s intense competition is generating excitement among fans, fueling optimism for a vibrant season ahead. Supporters can look forward to thrilling matches that will highlight the emerging talents and competitive spirit across the standings.
