Weekend Drug Busts: Police Crack Down on Unlawful Cultivation and Possession!

Throughout the weekend, several drug-related arrests were conducted for unlawful possession and cultivation of illegal substances.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that a 31-year-old man was apprehended in Caubati after authorities discovered clear plastic bags containing white crystals suspected to be methamphetamine, as well as dried leaves thought to be marijuana.

Additionally, ACP Driu indicated that the suspect is under investigation for bribery, having allegedly attempted to bribe a police officer at the time of his arrest.

Further arrests involving white substances presumed to be methamphetamine occurred in Samabula and Sigatoka, resulting in the detention of four men.

The police also made marijuana-related arrests in Korovou, Tailevu, Lautoka, and Sigatoka. In a separate incident of unlawful cultivation in Karoko, authorities seized over 100 marijuana plants.
