Weekend Drug Busts: Multiple Arrests and Shocking Allegations

Authorities conducted several drug-related arrests over the weekend for unlawful possession and cultivation of illegal substances.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that a 31-year-old man was apprehended in Caubati after police found clear plastic bags containing white crystals suspected to be methamphetamine and dried leaves thought to be marijuana. The suspect is also facing an investigation for attempted bribery, as he allegedly tried to offer money to a police officer during his arrest.

Additional arrests involving substances believed to be methamphetamine occurred in Samabula and Sigatoka, leading to the apprehension of four men. ACP Driu noted that marijuana-related arrests took place in Korovou, Tailevu, Lautoka, and Sigatoka, with one incident in Karoko where over 100 marijuana plants were confiscated.
