Weekend Drug Bust: Multiple Arrests and Shocking Discoveries

Various drug-related arrests occurred over the weekend for offenses including unlawful possession and cultivation of illegal substances.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that a 31-year-old man was apprehended in Caubati after police found plastic bags containing white crystals, suspected to be methamphetamine, along with dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

ACP Driu mentioned that the suspect is also under investigation for bribery, as he allegedly tried to offer money to a police officer during the arrest.

In addition, four men were arrested in Samabula and Sigatoka for possession of substances suspected to be methamphetamine. Arrests related to marijuana took place in Korovou, Tailevu, Lautoka, and Sigatoka. Notably, in Karoko, over 100 marijuana plants were seized in connection with unlawful cultivation.
