A trough of low pressure is anticipated to mainly impact the eastern regions of Fiji, as confirmed by the weather forecasters at the Fiji Meteorological Service Office in Nadi. A heavy rain warning has been issued, indicating that various locations throughout the Fiji group will experience adverse weather conditions over the coming week.

According to Fiji MET, heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding in low-lying areas, particularly affecting Navua, Suva, and Nausori, alongside occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms. The forecast for Thursday suggests a continuation of rain, which may be heavy at times, accompanied by thunderstorms. This pattern may also lead to flash flooding in low-lying regions, including Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, with potential cloudy periods and increased showers and thunderstorms expected, especially in the afternoon or evening.

Localized heavy rainfall could cause flash flooding in vulnerable areas. Meanwhile, Labasa is projected to experience occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms until Friday.
